Buy drinks, get a free journal and send a child to school via the Seattle's Best - World Vision Christmas Project starting October 22

Action & Event-ure:

They say we have the longest Christmas here in the Philippines.  Well, I definitely agree.  In fact, when the ber months arrive, it's not only the decors nor the shopping spree that comes into my mind (no not the bonus, I hate getting frustrated hehe), but the start of the sticker collection from coffee shops and the corresponding free journal!  Well, to be honest, in the past, I never bothered to have one from any of the coffee shops, primarily because I don't easily follow fads and be part of the snowball, and I want a journal that is not commonly owned by many.  But since I drink coffee often, then I told myself, why not get the free journal as well!  Haha =D  So the hunt during the Christmas season began!

Well, recently I got an invite from World Vision and Seattle's Best for the unveiling of their new partnership and the Christmas project they have in store for all of us.  And that changed my perspective in getting the free journal during the Christmas season.

Both the best in their respective fields, Seattle’s Best Coffee Philippines and World Vision have joined together to provide children a chance to be the best they can be as well. Similar to its past holiday promotions, customers will receive stickers when they purchase one of Seattle’s Best Coffee’s new holiday or classic drinks starting October 22, 2011 to January 22, 2012. When a total of 18 stickers are collected, customers present their completed “dream card” and redeem a leather journal loaded with, amongst other things: free music, goodies, food and drinks coupons, and up to 24 hours worth of free wifi at selected Seattle’s Best Coffee shop.

The four new holiday blends, available for a limited time, are Chocolate Cherry, Coffee Hazelnut, Cookies and Mint, and Coffee Cream Pie, each personified by its corresponding holiday “Best Friend,” is a unique blend of rich flavors and holiday spirit.

However, this year, instead of receiving one sticker, customers will receive two – one for their own Dream Card and the other for the World Vision Dream Tree. Visual Dream Trees will be installed in every Seattle’s Best Coffee shop where customers can stick their second stickers on. In the spirit of giving this holiday season, for every journal a customer redeems, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to World Vision, which will in turn be used to sponsor children in need to school. In addition to the stickers, World Vision donation boxes will be placed in every Seattle’s Best Coffee location allowing customers to give more to those less fortunate this holiday season.

"The Seattle's Best team knows that being the best does not just happen,” says Rea Cruz, General Manager for Seattle’s Best Coffee. She goes on to share, “It takes work, it takes effort and sometimes, it takes a little help for someone to be able to achieve the best that they can be. This is why the partnership with World Vision is something that we are passionate about. We believe in what they are trying to achieve and we want to help make a difference in the lives of these children."

"Jun Godornes, World Vision OIC NRD Assistant Director, shares similar sentiments, stating, "The SBC – World Vision Partnership is something we've eagerly waited for. SBC is giving us another venue to engage the public and give them an opportunity to create lasting change in the lives of the children and families we serve. We feel that SBC is a strong ally in raising a generation of givers among Filipinos… especially the coffee lovers! At World Vision, we believe in the joy of giving. SBC is now providing an excellent channel for that."

At the launch, World Vision ambassadors Marc Nelson, Miriam Quiambao, Krista Henares and Tintin Bersola Babao graced the affair and shared their personal experiences in helping Filipino children through World Vision.  It's really nice to know that celebrities like them are using their position in the society to make a difference to the lives of other people.  As Miriam said, "Helping these children is also investing for the country.  Who knows, one of them may be our future president."

And the four of them are inviting everyone to support this Christmas project organized by World Vision and Seattle's Best to get your own Dream Card and help build the World Vision Dream Tree. This is just the way how you do CRM (Cause Related Marketing) and this is the type of thing worth following.  =)

So now, the next time I get my coffee at Seattle's Best and collect my stickers, it won't just be about myself getting that much coveted journal, but for these kids in need as well.

If you want to know more or ask how you can help, you can check out this World Vision booth going around malls.
