In the past, I can't understand why the Filipino audience is so hooked on watching wedding specials or coverage. At work after a weekend when a wedding special has been shown on TV, it will most likely be the talk topic. Sometimes, I even saw some of them a little teary eyed or in full smile. Well I guess, Filipinos are really that romantic, we are in love in love, we are happy to see people tying the knot, even of those we don't know personally like celebrities.
And now, another another celebrity couple will again cast the love spell on the Filipino viewers. This time newlyweds Jolina Magdangal and Mark Escueta will finally divulge exclusive details of their wedding in “I Do”, Times Two! The Jolina Magdangal-Mark Escueta Wedding Special this Sunday on GMA-7’s SNBO.
The hour-long special brings to television viewers a unique and inspiring love story between an actress who grew up before the public’s eyes, and a musician whose tracks helped define an entire generation.
The couple will recount the tedious five-month preparation that immediately began after Mark, the original drummer of Rivermaya, proposed to the multitalented actress-singer-host that is Jolina earlier this year.
They will talk about the experiences that led them to the decision of tying the knot, not once but twice, last November 19 and 21. The first being a church wedding witnessed by their family and closest relatives, and the second, a bohemian-inspired garden wedding, this time, with the addition of selected friends in and out of showbiz.
Jolina and Mark, as well as their families, will also share how both weddings came about, and name the people who became instrumental in the fulfillment of this very memorable occasion, trademarked in the couple’s personal style.
The special, of course, will not be complete without showing videos of the two weddings, which will be shown in full for the first time on television. Know too, what’s next for the recently married couple in their newfound life together, and in their respective careers.
