Watch a featurette on Eddie Redmayne with a special greeting for the Philippines here":
The casting of “Fantastic Beasts” began with the character of Newt Scamander, whose visit to New York becomes far more eventful than he ever imagined. Producer David Heyman says that Eddie Redmayne was the filmmakers’ first and only choice for the part. “He is quintessentially British, and an actor for all times who can play a character from any time. Eddie is brilliant at getting under a character’s skin and exploring every detail of a role, yet all that effort is invisible. All you see here is Newt—an outsider who is somewhat knotty but winning and engaging, someone you immediately invest in.”

Featured in their own solo one-sheets are leader of the rebellion Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones); Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker).

Are you ready for the ARRIVAL?

In Columbia Pictures' provocative science-fiction thriller Arrival, a mysterious spacecraft touches down across the globe, and an elite team - lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) - are brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity. Also starring Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker.

“I've dreamed of doing science fiction since I was ten years old,” explains director Denis Villeneuve, who fell deeply in love with the short story Arrival is based upon, Ted Chiang’s ‘Story of Your Life.’ “It’s a genre that I feel has a lot of power and the tools to explore our reality in a very dynamic way.”
“After producers Dan Levine and Dan Cohen first contacted me about doing a movie,” says Chiang, “they sent me a DVD of Denis' film, Incendies (2010), to give me an idea of what they had in mind. That played a big part in my taking them seriously. If they had sent me a copy of a conventional Hollywood science-fiction movie, I probably would have ignored them. It wasn't until a few years later that Denis was actually attached to direct, but he was the director they had in mind from the beginning.”

Roald Dahl's beloved book The BFG is now a motion picture

Disney and Amblin Entertainment, in association with Walden Media, present the fantasy adventure film “The BFG,” the first-ever motion picture adaptation of Roald Dahl’s resonant tale of childhood, the magic of dreams and the extraordinary friendship between a young girl and a big friendly giant.
Roald Dahl’s seminal tale of the friendship between a young girl and a mysterious giant seemed perfectly aligned with director Steven Spielberg's own body of work, and while it may have seemed destined that Sophie and the BFG would one day find their way into Spielberg’s care, it would be decades following the book’s publication before the journey would actually begin.

Dahl’s “The BFG” was first published in 1982, the same year Spielberg’s own story about an unusual and transformative friendship, “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,” captured the hearts and imaginations of children and adults alike. The British author is one of the world’s most creative, mischievous and successful storytellers, someone who understands the inner lives of children and has a knack for creating characters that kids could relate to and storylines which kept them involved.
His ability to combine the fantastical with the frightening and place children as the heroes of his innovative stories, and adults as the villains, is unrivaled in the literary world. While Dahl’s stories recognize that life can be difficult and sometimes scary, that there is good with the bad, he never patronizes his readers.

It's BOURNE again this July!

Almost two decades ago, a brilliant young soldier volunteered for an experimental special-ops program after he was told that terrorists killed his father. He was promised he could honor his family and country by evolving an already impressive intellect, deft agility and adaptable skillset into the unimaginable.

A fresh and entirely new take on the lord of the apes story in THE LEGEND OF TARZAN (Opens June 30)

First appearing in the 1912 story Tarzan of the Apes, Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan has remained one of the most enduring characters of 20th-century popular culture. The legendary “lord of the apes” has inspired films, TV serials, radio plays, stage productions, comics and video games.

But what the filmmakers of the upcoming action adventure “The Legend of Tarzan” found in the new script by Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer was a fresh and entirely new take on the legend. “It has great characters, romance, humor and fabulous action,” says David Barron, who is producing the film (with Jerry Weintraub, as well as Alan Riche and Tony Ludwig). “It’s a large-scope, audience-friendly film, but with a thinking mind and a beating heart.”

The Conjuring 2 scares off competition, tops global and local box office results!

One of the most anticipated movies of the summer, James Wan’s sequel to 2013’s record-breaking supernatural thriller summoned up $90.350 million at the worldwide box office, making “The Conjuring 2” #1 in its opening weekend in North America and expecting to be #1 internationally, outside of China. The announcement was made June 12 by Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, Worldwide Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.\

Coming off of a strong Thursday night total of $3.4 million domestically, the film took in $40.350 million in North America, marking the largest domestic horror opening since 2013’s “The Conjuring,” which went on to gross $319 million in theaters worldwide. Finding Dory Can Inspire People to See Fish in the Wild – Not Bring Them Home

Sure, Finding Nemo was an awesome movie, inspiring a generation of people to love clownfish, now colloquially called Nemos. Its intended message was to keep fish in the sea, where they belong.

But did you know that after the movie, millions of clownfish were plucked from coral reefs and plunged into aquaria? Everyone wanted to keep Nemo! Clownfish sales jumped 40% and many reefs were left without the happily-dancing orange fish. Sadly, many of them died at the hands of well-meaning but inexperienced aquarists – because those pretty marine fish are also pretty hard to keep!
